Cycling
Indoor cycling continues to take the fitness world by storm. This class has attracted the very basic fitness levels to the elite athletes and can accommodate both in the same class! This class combines the benefits of outdoor cycling with the excitement and entertainment of indoor fitness classes. At Fort Washington Fitness it is our goal to keep our cycling program true to the properties that guide outdoor riding. With creative coaching and great music our instructors guide their class through a workout unlike any other! This class is a great place to start your road to fitness or to challenge yourself to reach a new fitness height. Everyone has control of their own bike and can adjust the intensity as desired. Don’t forget your towel and water bottle!
Yoga
Our (Vinyasa) yoga classes integrate strong fluid movements with energizing breathing practices. This class emphasizes flowing from one posture to another while developing strength and flexibility.
Pilates Mat
Pilates is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility, strength, body awareness, and muscle definition without building bulk. With special emphasis on strengthening the muscles of your core and aligning your spine Pilates is often used as a rehabilitative exercise as well. The hype is all true! Get the long and lean physique that you always hear about! If you are looking for a gentle yet challenging way to sculpt your entire body then this class is a must take!
Zumba
Ditch the workout, JOIN THE PARTY! The Zumba program fuses Latin rhythms in an easy-to-follow non-stop cardio dance workout! Give your routine a twist and a shake! You’ll be amazed at how quickly you see results and how much fun you’ll have working out!
Cardio Kick Boxing
Burn massive calories as you jab, cross, hook and kick your way to a toner body! This class has an easy to follow format of non-choreographed repetitive movements done to exhilarating music! This is a true cardio workout from start to finish with abs and stretching generally done at the end of class.
Kettlebells
A kettlebell is a cast iron ball with a handle attached to the top of it (picture a cannonball with a handle on the top). This design makes kettlebells different from training with dumbbells because the weight of a kettlebell is not distributed evenly, thus creating the need to counter balance and stabilize during your workout. This counterbalancing leads to deep core strength.
